The Devil in the Details
Release Notes
Version Alpha 0.1 (as submitted to IntroComp, July 2014)

July 20, 2014

I. Introduction

Welcome to San Francisco. Now match wits with the devil as you seek your life
goal of fame, fortune, power or happiness, choose one. Also choose to play as
male or female, or decline to state.

II. ZIP contents

The distribution ZIP contains the following:

- devil_in_details.t3

The game file in .t3 format; requires a TADS3 (version 3.1.3) compatible
interpreter. If your IF interpreter will not open this file, you can get
    one that will here: http://www.tads.org/t3dl/pksetup.exe

- devil_in_details.exe

The game file as standalone Windows executable file; runs on a Windows
system without an interpreter program. The .t3 and .exe files contain the
same content; there is no difference in game play. The only difference
is the manner in which the file is run.

- map.png

The game world, in visual form. Don't look at the map until you're ready
for spoiler information. Figuring out where to go and how to get there
    is part of the game.

- readme.txt

This text file, the one you are currently reading.

III. Game notes

As currently implemented, the game is approximately 1/3 complete. If it were a
three-act play, I'd say Act One is for the most part finished and playable,
while neither Act Two nor Act Three yet exists.

I have a vision in my head about where the game is going and how it will
conclude, but some of the details are not yet clear and there is no
programming beyond Act One.

That's part of the reason for entering in IntroComp---feedback on Act One and
comment on what Acts Two and Three might contain.

For the portion of the game that has been implemented, there is an embedded
hint system (command: hint then confirm with hint again).

Good luck on your quest for...well, whichever goal you choose to seek.

Jerry
